Security Training Center® News Contribution Rules

Security Training Center® is interested in contributing writers to add to the collection of news and articles relating to the private security industry. To be considered, all submissions must follow the guidelines below.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Not all submissions will be accepted or published.
  • Security Training Center,® at its sole discretion, will determine which articles appear on the Security Training Center® website.
  • All articles published to the Security Training Center® News website are unpaid.
  • Security Training Center® will share copyright with the author for all submissions.
  • Security Training Center® reserves the right to remove any article at any time, for any reason, without notice.
  • Fact-check information. Articles with wild, unsubstantiated, or clearly false claims will be rejected.
  • By submitting to Security Training Center® News, the author/submitter agrees to comply with all our rules, requirements, and standards.

Writing Standards

All submissions must adhere to the following standards:
  • Authors must only submit works to which they have full copyright.
  • Articles must be professional.
  • Articles must be between 800 and 2,000 words.
  • No cursing, swearing, or foul language.
  • No racist or inflammatory content.
  • Articles must be in U.S. English.
  • Limit content to the private security industry.
  • Avoid technical jargon. Keep content understandable by all.
  • Always spell out acronyms the first time they are used.
  • Spellcheck and grammar check your article before submission. Articles with too many errors will be rejected.
  • Security Training Center® will not edit the submission. The article must be "ready for print" before submission.
  • Avoid plagiarism. All quotes and references must be properly annotated.
  • Plagiarized articles will be removed and as well as all other submissions by the author.
  • Submissions must not be "spammy." Articles with the sole intent of promoting a book, blog, service, or site will be rejected. Authors may promote themselves in a single, short paragraph (biography), as an addendum to the article. Keep it tasteful.
  • No affiliate links.
  • No photographs, unless taken personally and the copyright is owned by the author. Nothing "found on the web" will be used. Images/photographs are capped at three (3).

Other Notes

  • Authors will be given credit for writing the content.
  • A linkback to an approved website will be given at the end of the article.

How to Submit Your Article

Submissions must be in MS Word or PDF format. Email your document and owned images to news@security-training-center.com

You will be notified if you submission is accepted.
